Blackout Curtain Fabric Supplier Malaysia
Blackout fabric blocks almost all incoming light, which is why it is the standard choice for bedrooms, nurseries, home cinemas and hotel rooms. It gets there in one of two ways. A woven blackout builds opacity into the cloth itself with a dense, often black, middle yarn. A coated blackout has a backing applied to the reverse, which makes it fully opaque and adds some thermal and acoustic insulation.
In the JOTEX range, MIDORI from TEKUSU is 100% polyester with a silicon backing at around 400 gsm, for rooms that must be completely dark. AMAYA is an 85% polyester, 15% linen blackout in a check at around 290 gsm, which gives a linen look without the light bleed of real linen. Both are extra-wide at 280 cm, so curtain makers can run the fabric sideways and make a full-height curtain with no vertical seams.
A blackout curtain only works as well as its installation, so specify a curtain track with a return or a pelmet and allow generous overlap at the centre. Pair it with a sheer on a double track for daytime privacy. Every collection below lists its composition, width and weight, and dealers can check stock and pricing by colourway.

Blackout Curtain Fabric: common questions
Blackout or dimout: which is better for a bedroom?
Choose blackout if you need the room fully dark, for example for day sleepers, babies or a home cinema. Choose dimout if you want privacy and less glare but still like some morning light. A dimout curtain with a blackout lining gives a middle option.
Why does light still get in around my blackout curtains?
The fabric blocks light, but light leaks around the edges. Use a ceiling-mounted track or a pelmet to close the top, a track with returns to close the sides, and a generous overlap where the two curtains meet in the centre.
Do blackout curtains keep a room cooler?
They help. A coated or backed blackout, such as the silicon-backed MIDORI, reflects and blocks much of the sun's heat at the window, so the air-conditioner has less to fight against in west-facing rooms. Keep the curtains closed during the hottest part of the afternoon.
