Jacquard Fabric Supplier Malaysia

A jacquard is a fabric whose pattern is woven into the cloth rather than printed on top. The loom lifts each warp thread individually, so damasks, florals, geometrics and herringbones are built from the yarns themselves. The pattern will not wash out or rub off, the reverse carries a mirror of the design, and the cloth has a richer texture and more body than a printed fabric of the same weight.

The JOTEX jacquard range covers classic and contemporary designs. MILANO is a 100% polyester jacquard at around 220 gsm and 300 cm wide. JODI is a cotton-rich geometric jacquard, 59% cotton and 41% polyester, at around 262 gsm with a 10,000-rub rating. MONTI brings a traditional damask, MORGAN a floral and MERCATO a herringbone.

Because the pattern is structural, plan pattern repeats and matching before cutting, especially across joined widths. Jacquards suit formal living and dining rooms, hotel suites and feature curtains, and the heavier qualities also work as cushions and bed runners. Each collection below lists composition, width and weight, with live stock for dealers.

Jacquard Fabric: common questions

What is the difference between jacquard and printed fabric?

A jacquard's pattern is woven into the cloth, so it cannot wash out or rub off and the fabric has texture and body. A print is applied to the surface of a plain cloth. Jacquards usually drape more richly and last longer, while prints allow more colours and finer detail.

Is jacquard fabric suitable for upholstery?

It depends on the collection. Check the Martindale rating: JODI, for example, is rated at 10,000 rubs, which suits cushions and occasional seating rather than a sofa in daily use. Collections without a rating are intended for curtains.

How do I match a jacquard pattern across curtain widths?

Allow one extra pattern repeat for every drop you cut, so each width can be shifted to line the pattern up at the seam. Cut all drops from the same roll or batch so the colour matches too.
